House parties are a great way to mingle and relax with your friends or family but organising a party can be made more stressful than it should be by the pressure of providing a spread of food which everyone will enjoy.
Unless you’re a professional caterer try to remember people are probably not coming to your party for the food! None-the-less here are a few tips for quick and easy snacks which anyone can prepare for a birthday party.
Making cookies is not a complex task. With a cooking time of approximately 10 minutes, they are an ideal snack for a house party. In addition, cookies provide a unique opportunity, in that you can dress them up in many ways to suit the occasion. To make them, all you need is an egg, butter, sugar, salt, flour and decorations. Mix the butter, salt, flour and cream until blended. You can place the dough in a freezer for about 30 minutes. You should then cut the dough into many cookies as desired and bake them for about 10 minutes. You can then decorate them with frosting, varying the amount of sugar and candy to suit the preferences. Set them to dry and the party is good to go.
Cheese straws are not only convenient as quick party snacks, but they are also finance friendly. The ingredients will include cheese, all purpose flour, butter, salt and pepper. You can use a food processor to mix the dough – make sure the processor has a grating blade to mix the pepper, powder and salt. When the dough forms, transfer it to a working surface and roll it into pieces. After cutting the desired pieces, bake them for about 10 to 15 minutes until they turn brownish or golden in colour. Allow them to cool before serving.
Sumptuous chicken kebabs
This snack will leave your party guests asking for more. The ingredients required are again, pretty cheap, simple and easy to get hold of; chopped garlic cloves, oranges, onions, honey, peppers, cubed chicken, and tomatoes. You will need a food processor to grind the ginger, garlic, onions and the orange. Blend them in honey and oil. You then need to mix it with the cubed chicken before threading it. Cook the threaded chicken for about 7-10 minutes until it turns to golden brown. Allow time to cool before serving the kebabs to your guests.
Dainty chocolate cakes will surely earn you accolades from your guests. To make them, you only need butter at room temperature, sugar, eggs, flour, melted chocolate and maybe vanilla or cream. You should then cream the butter before adding cocoa and mix it with milk. The next step is to divide the mixture in muffin tins, then bake for about 8-10 minutes. You should then dip the cupcakes in the hot chocolate. Allow for sometime before serving.
Finally, these quick snacks will leave everyone salivating. To make these snacks, all you need are sausages, beaten eggs and garlic. You should crush the garlic and add a little salt and pepper. Put the sausages in the food processor and pour the garlic mix. Cut the pastry halfway in cylindrical shapes. Roll it around the sausages and cut them in pieces. You can then brush them using the eggs and place them in the oven for about 30 minutes. After they are ready, serve them with ketchup.
