New Year’s Eve is coming up and I know that most of you have your plans figured out and you know exactly what you want to do. The only problem is making sure that you can go to whatever event or party that you want to. New Year’s Eve should be spent doing something incredibly fun. You are celebrating a brand new year, a fresh start! Hopefully you don’t get stuck in a situation that is going to be boring. Here are some of the worst places you could be on New Year’s Eve:
Maybe you aren’t able to help it, your boss is making every one stay late to get everything done that needs to. Hopefully you have a job that would not require you to work at all hours of the night. If so, you should quit your job before New Year’s! Working is no way to spend one of the most fun holidays. (Don’t actually quit your job since you will still need a way to make money…)
Maybe your mom really needed your help or you got asked to do it weeks ago without realizing what you were getting yourself into. Sometimes babysitting is really fun especially if you are related to the kid or they are just really cute, future-commercial children. Although babysitting is not necessarily a bad thing, on New Year’s Eve it is. Children under the age of 5 won’t be able to even stay up until midnight to celebrate with you. Try not to get stuck hanging out with anyone who still uses a pacifier on New Year’s Eve.
At your grandparent’s house
I love my grandparents but I’m not going to lie-there is no way I will be there for New Year’s Eve. Grandparents are never going to be the life of the party. They are old and feeble. My grandma can barely stay up past 9:00 anymore. If your family is visiting your grandparents for the holidays and you are definitely going to be staying the night there, collaborate with your siblings or any friends that might be close to see if you can find somewhere else to celebrate the new year.
Here are some good party theme ideas that do not suck .
If you are going home over the holidays, you will be traveling at some point over winter break. Make sure you don’t schedule any travel plans around New Year’s. One of the worst places to be has got to be in a car or in a plane. Traveling is already a hassle and it is never fun to sit for long periods of time. Imagine spending New Year’s sitting in a car or on a plane with a bunch of people you don’t know. Make sure to schedule your plans around this important holiday.
Okay so maybe you put off your homework for the last week and now you have a bunch of assignments all due the next day. Don’t get caught doing homework on New Year’s Eve. Get it all done a week before so you can be certain that your plans are clear by New Years.
Somewhere where they don’t celebrate it
If you are going on a really cool vacation to a foreign place over winter break, don’t go anywhere that doesn’t celebrate New Years. It would be super lame to be in an amazing place when the new year rolls around that does not even celebrate it. Go somewhere like London or Paris where the fireworks over the Eiffel Tower will beat any other firework show ever.
